Meet Professor Neuron: A Free AI Teacher That Explains AI in Plain English
Professor Neuron is a free AI teacher on the BrightMind Academy. Ask it anything about AI in plain English, start simple, and go deeper when you're ready.

Most people who want to learn AI hit the same wall. The explanations are either a dense textbook or a pile of hype. You want to know what AI actually is, how it works and whether it matters for your work, and nobody has the patience to explain it twice.
So we built a teacher for that. Professor Neuron is a free, chat-based AI teacher on the BrightMind Academy. You ask a question in your own words and get the answer in plain English, one step at a time. There's no sign-up, and you can try it now.
Ask Professor Neuron a question →What Professor Neuron is, and isn't
Professor Neuron is an AI character. It has a playful, comic-book voice, but the teaching is meant to be plain and accurate. It's built for people who are new to AI, and it's especially useful for small business owners who want to understand the technology before they commit to it.
It isn't a person, and it isn't a source to take on trust. It's an AI, so it can be wrong. We've written that into its brief, and the page says so too, because that's the honest way to use any AI tool.
What it teaches
Professor Neuron covers five areas, starting from the foundations and building up:
- →AI basics: what AI is, the difference between narrow and general AI, and why good data matters.
- →Deep learning: how neural networks learn by adjusting their weights to reduce their errors.
- →Language: how language models predict text, and what transformers and attention are.
- →Generative AI: how it creates text and images, and why it sometimes gets facts wrong.
- →Prompts and the road ahead: how to write a clear prompt, and what experts still debate about where AI is going.
The teaching notes are written in our own words. Professor Neuron can point you towards further reading on a topic, but it doesn't quote books or pretend to have memorised them.
Why it helps to learn this way
It starts simple, then powers up.
Ask what a neural network is and you get the basic idea first. If you want more depth, you ask for it. That's the difference between learning something and being overwhelmed by it.
It uses comparisons you already understand.
When we asked it "What is AI, really?", it didn't open with a definition. It compared an AI system to an apprentice baker who learns from thousands of examples, rather than following a recipe for every step. It's a simple picture, and the next idea is easier to follow because of it.
It's designed to check you're following.
It's briefed to ask a check-in question when that helps, so you know whether an idea has landed before you move on.
It connects AI to your work when you tell it what you do.
The Academy is about learning, but most of our readers want to use AI in a business. Tell Professor Neuron what you do and it will tie the idea back to your work.
What it's not for
Professor Neuron teaches. It doesn't make business decisions, draft your contracts or give legal, medical or financial advice. For that, use a qualified professional. If you want help choosing your next step in the business itself, that's what CEREBREX PRIME is for. Think of Professor Neuron as the teacher and CEREBREX PRIME as the advisor.
Compare the two AI helpers →Three things to keep in mind
- →Check anything important. AI can give confident answers that are wrong, especially on numbers, names and dates.
- →Don't paste client or personal data into the chat. Keep your questions general.
- →Use it to understand, then try the idea on a real task. A lesson sticks better when you use it.
Start here
If you've been meaning to understand AI properly, start with one question. Ask "What is AI, really?", or pick the question closest to whatever is confusing you. Then ask a follow-up. That's the whole method.
Professor Neuron is free, with no sign-up. Go and ask it the question you've always felt a bit silly asking. That's exactly what it's for.
